I have a website \^-^/

My new website is here.

I spent pretty much my whole weekend working on my new website.

I know I know I don't have much to show for the time I spent on the website yet, mostly because I'm just figuring out how to do this (with the help of my husband, aka my hero). It is going slow and the website is still a work in progress but designing a website is so much fun that I'm slightly worried that I'm getting addicted. I should really stop working on the website and start working on my dissertation, but let me just fix this tiny thing first, then there was the font color on that page, the design should be consistent, let me search some exemplar websites with elegant designs, and maybe a different template might work matter, oh, no, this template messed up this part...You see what I mean? I'm hopelessly addicted. I hope that (1) there is a learning curve and eventually I will learn to do this faster (2) the time I spend is good investment for my career (3) I have the willpower to go back to dissertating, and (4) eventually I will lose interest and even forget updating my website.

So, what do you think about academics having websites to share their work, experience and qualification? I don't know many scholars with websites or blogs in SLS, other than the generic and boring faculty pages on university websites. I wonder why? My opinion is living is an art form and the more you consciously express, fashion, compose and design your life the better. Well, anyway, if you're considering the website question check this out The Ins and Outs of a Professional Academic Website (Guest Post)

PS. You will see more content on my website soon. If you visit my website and have any suggestions please let me know at beriltez@gmail.com
